It is super exciting to see Monthly Design Review enter into it's second year, started as an idea in 2009 as a magazine, it grew into a monthly meeting in 2010. Started as a small meet up for like-minded designers and entrepreneurs who were contributing for the magazine, we began to attract different people to join our conversations about the value and power of design.
The MDR team in New York City have started a lecture series towards the end of 2010 and in our first meeting of 2011, we invited the founder of Behance, Scott Belsky to share about his thoughts and theories about making ideas happen. We had one of the biggest turns out since the having these monthly meetings of about 100 people. It was a great way to start of the new year and we look forward to getting more designers and thinkers from around New York City.
